This handsome 16th century coaching inn is a bit of an understated gem, and the village too has some breathtakingly picturesque moments when you don't expect them.
Dog-friendly inn with a bar/restaurant and dog-friendly rooms. Dog walks from the door and plenty to see in this historic village.
Busy pub right on the banks of the river, and it's extremely popular. Not a great choice if you're in a rush, but ideal outside the main eating service hours.
A choice of dog walks, a dog-friendly hotel with a pretty riverside terrace for snacks and meals and the charms of the Exmoor National Park all around.
Friendly and unpretentious inn with a cozy feel to it. We struggled to find a good dog walk from the village without a long stretch of road walking, which was a shame.
Deep in the heart of Exmoor, this pub is a great place to return to after an invigorating dog walk. It is a traditional country inn where everyone, both human and canine, is made to feel very welcome.
A dog-friendly pub with real historic interest. Part of Lorna Doone was written here and General Eisenhower slept here. Your dog can stay too, there are dog-friendly rooms.
A fine 17th century coaching inn in the heart of Exmoor. The village itself is very pretty and the countryside is magnificent. Dogs are very welcome to stay in rooms overnight.
More of a hotel than a pub but you won't get a warmer, friendlier welcome anywhere else. The village is extraordinarily pretty and there are loads of great walks to enjoy in the area.
