A walk in Lothersdale with dog-friendly country pub, North Yorkshire
Dogs are welcome at his village freehouse with some rather good local beer, and a walk on an unscary part of the Pennine Way.

A long uphill trek to the top of the hill will reward you with a huge view (apart from the basalt quarry below) and a definite sense of achievement.
A chance for a quiet and relaxing walk with the dog in gentle woodland with many small paths to follow. A dog-friendly pub is a short drive away.
Wonderfully placed pub where you can watch the chain ferry, take a breather, walk the dog and or just enjoy the space.
On a sunny day the town and beach would sparkle. As it was, grey clouds took over and spoiled everything! Dogs are adored at the pub, and they also have a cottage for rent right by the beach.
Another great village pub that's been saved by the community, and with a choice of walks from the door. Always good to find these hidden gems and support them.
Dog-friendly pub with food Wednesday to Sunday, and a village with its roots deep in prehistory. It's full of legends about witches and warlocks, so tread lightly hereabouts!
Sully Bay lets dogs on the beach all year round, but watch their paws as it's rock and shingle. The coast path is nice and softer on the paws for walkies.
The village was once a centre for lead smelting, and the mill site here is worth a visit. It's just off the Leyburn road, and brown-signed from opposite the pub.
Welcoming dining pub close to the A6, and a good place for a driving break and a dog walk. Families and dogs are made welcome, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.
A dog-friendly and traditional village pub. Close to both the A5 and the M1 Junction 12 and 13. Good food, and a useful set meal / fixed price option at lunchtimes.
Surprisingly rural pub on the edge of the Black Country. It does have a locals' feel, but less so in the summer when it's warm enough to sit outside.
