A small part of a much larger forest, this is just fine for a dog walk to pep up the pooch and give your own legs a stretch too.
In his book "Rural Rides", William Cobbett was not a fan of the Forest. Happily, it is the opinion of dogs that matters and they will have a marvellous romp through the trees and heathland.
Fully accessible 14km leisure walk over the bed of a former railway line. So it's pretty flat too. The parking here is more or less in the middle of the route. Handy for the A22.
