Close to both the A303 and the A34 we stumbled on this dog walk and dog-friendly inn while trying to find a dogwalk at the Sutton Scotney services on the A34.
Riverside path along the Wear with country views, and spectacular views of the Castle and Cathedral. 1.5 miles one way.
The riverside path here is some 2.5m wide with plenty of dog romping space and an abundance of wildlife. This is probably as close as it gets to Wind in the Willows land, a magical walk.
17th century dog-friendly pub with a modern feel, and a fabulous location. In summer you can sit on the grass watching canal boats go by, and in winter there are several fires and woodburners.
A towpath walk along the pretty and well-tended canalside.
This is a lovely 17th Century coaching inn with open fires either end of the lounge bar in which you can enjoy good home cooked food and a fine selection of ales and beers
One of those quaint 'English' dog walks, with a fabulous pub, cricket pitch and strolling route on springy grass through lush countryside.
Dogs will relish the freedom of this woodland, which dates way back to early times. And afterwards, there's a lovely atmosphere at the dog-friendly village pub. Ticks all the boxes!
Easy to find dog-friendly pub - and the walk starts directly from the car park. Perfect!
This is a dog walk that does exactly what it says on the tin: one path that winds through an avenue of rhododendron bushes, there and back. And the dog-friendly pub is a treat.
The pub is deceptive - bigger inside than you'd think from the car park, and it's strong on food too. The walk is an easy one to find, and dogs get a good off-lead run.
