Atmospheric ruins of the abbey are perfect for a picnic break, short dog walk, or a ponder on the many and vaied saints of Wales.
This is a quiet and atmospheric circular woodland dog walk in a nature reserve that is a haven of meditative calm. And then it's a very short drive to a warm and welcoming dog-friendly inn.
Delightful country inn with a dog-walk from the door. We stopped for lunch and were enormously tempted to stay for much longer and see more of the area!
This dog walk is close to Junction 7 and 8 of the M20. Stop here for a good length circular dog-walk, and an excellent and dog-welcoming inn with B&B to return to.
A short with the dog to see the site of the castle where Mary Queen of Scots lost her head. It seems a forlorn grassy lump these days but the castle was significant some 400 years ago.
If you are looking for somewhere to return to again and again for your walkies, this place should do the trick. There are loads of walks to enjoy and you can pick up leaflets from the visitor centre.
An alternative to motorway services, and somewhere useful to know about in case there's a serious delay on the motorway.
Village pub. Thatched roof and home cooked food. Gareth is the landlord and he runs the pub along with the manager Sam and chef Paul. Friendly pub dog Freddie helps with the atmosphere!
A short, flat walk along the canal, stopping off at Halberton Farm shop for fab treats and coffee, or even PYO!
A traditional pub that's well equipped for families and their dogs. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. New management in January 2024, so reviews very welcome.
Stunningly pretty and popular cove, with the coast path to let dogs flap their ears in the sea breezes.
