A9 dog walk at Faskally near Pitlochry, Scotland
Useful stopping point if you're heading north on the A9. The car park is hardly any distance from the main road, yet once you're in the trees it's a different world.

A woodland walk just off the A9 on the Black Isle side of the Kessock Bridge. A great off lead walk for dogs.
Lovely riverside walk around edge of Public Park. Ideal if you want nice scenery but don't want to be too far from civilisation.
Beautiful forest and river walk.
Even though the car park is directly off the A9 northbound, after just a few paces along the path, you would never know you're anywhere near a main road.
A vast forest that stretches from here to the Cairngorms, and an ideal dog walking spot.
Dog-friendly beach right beside Royal Dornoch Golf Course.
Walk along canal towpath for 4 km return by retracing route
We really enjoyed a walk with the dogs in this light and airy woodland not far from the A9 and Dornoch.
Serene forest walking spot, with views over Loch Tummel. Look out for the 8th century hill fort, somehow not smothered by conifers.
Near junction of A9 and A86 Stumbled across this little gem by accident while looking for somewhere else. Dogs need to be kept on lead around this lovely little nature reserve based around two ponds.
A stunning circular walk along a babbling river, criss-crossing it several times before arriving at an impressive waterfall. Return via a woodland trail.
