A414 Huge open space for dog walking and a dog-friendly pub too, Essex
Said to be the second biggest open space in Essex there's plenty of space for dogs to go totally nuts and get really tired out. The routes have no stiles.

A relaxed country pub, fairly close to big dog walks at Danbury country park. If you're eating, they do scarily huge portions!
Country pub and a woodland dog walk that's pure doggie delight. Close to Chelmsford and you'd never believe how far away the 21st century feels from here.
Hylands Park has lots of good dog walks. You can do several different circuits, including around the Serpentine Lake & through the woods. There are two dog friendly cafés and both have free parking.
This can be quite an exciting walk with the dog past the site of the Battlefield of Maldon in 991. It seems that the local worthy, Earl Byrhtnoth took on the Vikings and lost the battle and his head.
Dog-friendly country pub near Chelmsford and the A414. Handy for a chatty lunch with (human) friends and close to some dog walking parks on your way there.
A cheerful and friendly pub, and a linear dog walk over fields and on tracks.
Popular with dog walkers, this park has plenty of varied paths and links in with a couple of long distance paths too. Lots of space and easy to find.
Small, but incredibly useful park close to the town centre. We found it completely by chance while waiting to meet a much delayed train - and Jem was delighted!
Enclosed and gated wood/field.
Relaxed and welcoming almost village-like doggie welcoming pub on the edge of Chelmsford. And with a dog walk that starts from the front door too.
Dog-friendly and welcoming 14th century inn with a church next door constructed from building materials used by the Romans.
