Lovely woodland slope
We were complete strangers to the area, so found the directions a bit vague.
Yes there is plainly redevelopment going on currently of the old hospital site and metal fencing with "Private Land" signs up. We did see a fingerpost sign on the opposite side of the road just immediately before some houses, so we took that path.
It led down a sloped woodland path and across an open bit into more woodland paths.
It did get a bit muddy looking there so we turned back!
Once back in the car we could see where we should have stopped.
If you continue past the hospital site the fencing comes to an end and there were a couple of cars pulled in by a gap in the wall, another public footpath sign!
