Silverhill Wood dog walks, Nottinghamshire
Description
The site offers a network of surfaced woodland trails and there are also fantastic off road links to the Teversal Trail Network, and on into Derbyshire and the Five Pits Trail. From the car park on Silverhill Lane, you can explore the site, its safe off lead right from the car park. No animals on the site. There are paths, which are wheelchair and pushchair friendly. Well worth the climb up to the memorial - statue of a Nottinghamshire miner 'Testing For Gas' at the summit.

Excellent walk 15 mins from the M1
This former colliery site has been excellently restored to a forest with different walking paths. We visited in October after a heavy downpour and it wasn't too muddy. It's very popular with other dog walkers too. Just a 15 minute drive from the M1.
