You can also park in Merthyr Mawr Village (Cadleston) small charge. Access to the sand dunes another great walking area. Cafe next to the beach, Parkdean Caravan site 2 mins walk. A shop just up the road. 2 pubs for meals. Village shop around the corner. Great for fishing.
The beach is a ten minute walk from Newton village, which is easily reached by bus services to or from Porthcawl. First Bus run various direct services from Bridgend, Cardiff (X2) and Swansea. For the beach, alight at the Globe garage.
Walk
Not the biggest beach in the world, but there's plenty for the dog to explore. The kids may enjoy exploring the many rock pools.
