Lovely easy walk on gravelled paths around a very large country park. Lots of access to the River Lostock running through which the dog loved. We were there for about 2 hours and only saw a fraction of the place.

Excellent motorway stop

Really great walk - fine for off lead and lots of other dog walkers there. The directions could be a little clearer. Basically when you come off the M6 North - you need to turn right and follow signs to Cuersen Valley Park. You cross 2 small roundabouts and when you come to a dip in the road - the car park is on your left.

Great stop off

Just a couple of miles off junction 28 of M6, this is a superb find. Grassy (muddy - I’ve a spaniel) and wooded walks. Plenty of space to run around and a cafe/visitor centre/toilets.

£1.50 for 2 hours parking in 2022

Great place to stop for dogs and humans!

Cuerden Valley Park had all that our dog loves - water, woodland and enough room to run. We stopped twice on our way to the Lake District and back, and on the return trip we went to the Visitor centre for brunch - welcome and food very good, with dogs allowed outside on the terrace which overlooks the park. It's obviously a popular place for locals to walk (always a good sign), and there are toilets at the visitor centre, which were very welcome on the journey.
