Lovely dog walk with trees, a river and 2 lakes, Hertfordshire
Description
Free parking welcomes you to the Aquadrome. Just across the way is the lovely "Cafe In the Park" but sadly dogs aren't allowed inside. There is a good path all round two of the three lakes where dogs can roam free. (The third is for bird watchers and dogs are not welcome if off the lead). You can walk around both Batchworth and Bury Lakes - approximately 1.6km around Bury Lake and a further 1.4km around Batchworth Lake. If you are feeling really energetic then you could also walk the Easy Access Trail through the wet woodland which is around 1.3km.

GPS coords for car park: 51.6327, -0.4752 The gates close at 6 pm from 1 October - 30 April. Statement from the council about the lakeside path: " The path is currently closed for Health and Safety reasons owing to seasonal flooding which is an important aspect of the site's purpose and ecology. This year has seen more significant rainfall, causing structural damage to the pathway meaning that it is currently unsafe for public use. Short term repairs to the pathway would likely be washed away with any further significant rainfall and flooding, resulting in the re-closure of the path and a waste of limited council funds."

Dropped in here on the way to & from Skegness.
Plenty of free parking and good walks around the lakes although footpath was flooded in a few places. No worries with wellies!
Plenty of seating at the cafe and they have the inside dog friendly "Blue Room" if the weather is poor.
Good coffee & cakes

Sadly no access to the river
The river walk is now gated off. I have no idea why! Still a lovely lake but it’s a much shorter walk.
