Golitha Falls National Nature Reserve, Cornwall
Description
A stunning walk along the banks of the river Fowey as well as in woodland. Good for walking dogs and children, although not suitable for a pram. There are many places for paddling and a number of places suitable for a woodland picnic, as well as dedicated picnic places. Some old structures are still standing and it is fun to explore. We loved it so much here that we did both walks plus went off-path exploring.

Walk
Two way-marked trails;
1. A 1km (40 minute) woodland walk. This route is challenging as the ground is uneven. It can be slippery during periods of bad weather too. However, it is exciting with its naturally eroded tree root steps and rock slopes. Views into the gorge and from the Water Pit are wonderful. Adults, dogs, and older primary school children will all be envigored by this walk.
2. A 500m (20 minute) river loop walk (River Fowey). This is easier but just as exciting. The path follows the rocky riverside before rounding back via the woods. Human bridges, tree trunk dog bridges and stepping stones add to the experience. Sandy shallow and the falls themselves (more rapids than water falls) will entertain water loving dogs as well as children.
