Charnock Richard M6 Services -Northbound only, Lancashire
Description
A mown track around a grassy field adjacent to the car park on the northbound side. Takes about 10 minutes to complete a circuit. Picnic table and poo bin at the start. The field is not fully fenced in but safe for dogs with good recall to run off lead. All usual food and refreshment facilities in main building but dogs are not allowed inside. This also means that the field is inaccessible from the southbound side.
Details
Ramada hotel is nearby.
Walk
Access from main parking area over a little bridge. Close to BP filling station.

Green 35 PointsA godsend!
Thank you for listing this - I was just despairing about what a chaotic and cramped services this was when I looked up this site and found the grassy track!! The entrance is easy to miss - it’s just beside the filling station.

Green 30 PointsGreat tip!
We decided to stay here last night driving from Cardiff to Cairnryan based on this advice. Our first time ever staying in a hotel at a service station! We have a 1 yr old rocker and she really enjoyed the field and around the hotel in general. There are rabbits! She hadn't smelt them before so that was a bit of fun, and possibly moles near the hotel. Downside I think I got bitten a few times by a horsefly this morning- but that could happen anywhere. So far id say thus recommendation alone has justified my membership for the year!

What a find
Thank you for posting this. We found the field over behind the hotel, by the side of the filling station.
There were poo bins too… though unfortunately STILL had to navigate piles of dog poo 🙄
It was so good to have a leg stretch.
NB do NOT chance Charnock Richard’s South Bound like we did on our return journey!! It was DIRE and had nowhere at all for dogs and you couldn’t take your dogs inside to cross over to the north bound field.
