Find the perfect dog walk on your journey - Driving with Dogs

Attenborough Nature Reserve on-lead dog walk, Nottinghamshire

Description

A massive nature reserve, established in 1966 and was opened by Sir David Attenborough himself. Known for its massive range of bird life, insects and plants. A very busy attraction.

Details

There are plenty of routes to take throughout the reserve & plenty of maps on site. You can also use the website to plan your route. For the most part, the paths are concrete however if you're a wheelchair user, I'd recommend checking out so you're not inconvenienced.

Walk

The walks are lovely, there are bunkers for bird watching / photographs. The reserve itself is VERY busy so be mindful of the times you go if your dog is anxious etc. You're supposed to have your dog on the lead as this is a nature reserve but there were loads of dogs not on the lead (we took the lead off for pics but that was it). There are banks where the dogs can go into the water but please be mindful of algae etc. It's a very relaxing place to walk and enjoy nature. So many dragonfly and butterflies along the route.
