If you just want a short 15 min walk cross the first footbridge, turn right and then cross back using the 2nd footbridge further up stream. Alternatively, you can follow the river upstream for a mile or so beyond the 2nd footbridge and either re-trace your steps or climb the steep hill away from the river and cross the top of the hill before exiting near the children's playground area.
