From car park exit through gate at side of car park to Lock 11 on canal turn left and pass under roadway heading north-east. Continue along canal towpath to reach Lock 9 climb steps on left to reach main A9 road cross railway line and immediately drop back down steps to canal towpath keep heading north-east along towpath to reach Lock 5 pub/restuarant at this location. Cross road and carry on along towpath, path runs along side roadway for some distance and is unfenced until Lock 4. Continue until pass under road bridge to reach Helix Park and sights of "Kelpies" on your left. Continue to reach Visitors Centre at Lock 3 and finally "The Kelpies Duke & Baron" at River Carron Sea Lock 2. You can continue a short distance by passing under the M9 motorway to reach the end of the canal at River Carron Sea Lock 1. Retun by retracing your route to car.
