Sponsored dog walk for theWorldwide Veterinary Service, an animal welfare charity based in Cranborne, Dorset on the 20th July 2013, Paws in the Park, held in St Giles Park of the Shaftesbury Estate in Dorset. We are extremely fortunate to be given full access to the grounds by the Earl and Countess of Shaftesbury. The event will be a great opportunity to explore the picturesque gardens and surrounding park which are rarely open to the public with our 9km sponsored walk.
The gardens have been asleep for the last 50 years and many attractions can be found hidden away including a shell and crystal lined grotto, woodland walk, victorian lake and many interesting features. Over the last few years work has begun to restore the Park, its lake and follies as well as the house and Stable Block, meaning the gardens will be truly enchanting for you to explore.
The grounds will open at 9.30am and you can start the walk anytime between 10:00am and 12pm which will pass the lake and onto the surrounding farmland. The rest of the day may be spent enjoying animal displays, a dog show, delicious lunches cream teas and many stalls selling local produce and crafts.
