Welcoming dog-friendly village inn serving food just about all day. It's easy to spot, with a thatched roof and distinctive black and white timbers.
Unbelievable little town, very close to the A64 and it's like a time warp back to the 1950s (or thereabouts). The dog-friendly hotel is a massive building with a big car park, and next to the river.
Well worth stopping here, not just to walk the dog, but also to enjoy the atmosphere and gothic ruins of this ruined abbey. Great place for a picnic if you're organised enough.
