Flagmount's quite a popular place for traditional pursuits - and the lake has a gorgeous white sandy beach. There's a choice of walks, and on a good day a potter by the lake is just great.
Dogs will love it here and there's also plenty for people to do, with a helpful visitor centre to help you decide what to see.
Poigny-le-Foret has a resort-like atmosphere, and does attract Parisians in need of fresh air at weekends. We found the prices here higher than in the towns just a little more distant from the N10.
