Tantallon Castle visit with the dog, Scotland
A good ruin with a view always makes a good stop for kids of all ages and dogs too. This castle has all sorts of gruesome features to delight the bloodthirsty.

The Car park is right next to the park and children's playarea, there is a fairly big loop you can do either starting at the carpark and heading down the lane or alternatively you can cross the road...
A dog-friendly community pub in a small Dorset village. Lovely when the village comes together for a project like this.
A wonderful coastal inn, renowned for excellent pub food and a comfortable welcoming bar. Magnificently situated, half way up the cliff in a small, out of the way cove, it is an amazing spot.
This is a great stop off if you're passing through Kendal. We turned up with our 2 dogs, baby and pram and were happily accommodated and given a spacious table. Lovely friendly staff.
Dog-friendly old coaching inn, and a fine traditional market town with easy access to dog walks. Well worth planning a stop here when you're driving on the A65.
A dog-friendly pub that hides an extraordinary story within its walls. Time Team unravelled some of the history and this is far from the Victorian building it seems to be!
If you have an interest in the Reivers of the borderlands between Scotland and England then a dog walk starting from the graveyard where 'Rob Roy' MacGregor is buried is a great option.
Busy seaside resort with loads of fish and chip shops, and everything you need for a traditional bucket 'n spade holiday - including lettered rock.
A lovely woodland walk near a tranquil reservoir is ideal for dogs and drivers.
A wonderful off lead walk 6km from Shrewsbury, just off the A5 and A49. There are 2 car parks (along a track rather than by the road which is where most people park).
We were going to head into Amesbury to find somewhere to stop but this walk is just off the A303. Had a good walk here and then were able to do quick pit stop later for coffee.
