Victoria Park local dog walks, Greater London - Dog walks in Greater London

Description

The biggest park in the area, and full of extraordinary bits of London heritage - like a seat made out of some of the stones of the old London Bridge when it was demolished inthe early 1800s.

There are statues too of the dog of the media-hungry, massively ambitious ancient Greek general Alciabiades. Apparently he acquired a very handsome dog which was much admired - but when the dog no longer attracted so much attention, Alciabiades cut its tail off so that people started talking about him again.
