Victoria Park local dog walks, Greater London
E2 9LY
Description
The biggest park in the area, and full of extraordinary bits of London heritage - like a seat made out of some of the stones of the old London Bridge when it was demolished inthe early 1800s.
There are statues too of the dog of the media-hungry, massively ambitious ancient Greek general Alciabiades. Apparently he acquired a very handsome dog which was much admired - but when the dog no longer attracted so much attention, Alciabiades cut its tail off so that people started talking about him again.
Details
There's no car park, but there is on street Blue Badge parking on Old Ford Road. There's no level access and the only ramp is at the Old Ford Road entrance (where the map marker is).
Full Walk Details
There's loads of space in the park for a dog walk, but if you want a longer route there's also access to the Hertford Union canal from the south side of the park and the Regents Canal on the west side.
