CA12 5TW
Description
A lovely, easy stroll up a woodland valley with fell views at the far end!
Details
If you are taking a disabled person, don't cross the bridge, just head up the main track to the end (there's a fair bit of uphill) and come back the same way! The visitor centre hires out buggies for disabled badge holders so they can go up the special tracks to see the views (you'll have to park in the main car park for these). There are toilets, a gift shop and cafe at the visitor centre which can be reached by walking up the road a little way and crossing into the car park via a muddy path.
Full Walk Details
This is a small car park to the South of the main Whinlatter Visitor Centre Car Park (on your left as you come up the hill from Braithwaite - before you reach the main visitor centre car park). Park here (pay & display) then head South-West along a wide forest path to a wooden bridge. Cross the bridge then follow the path up to a T junction of paths. Turn left, follow this up the valley to the end then cross the concrete bridge at the end and follow the wide path back to the car park.
