There's 360 acres of parkland to explore here, and a marked trail through the woodland that goes past some of the historical natural and manmade features of the park.   This dog walk lies halfway between Junction 1 and 2 of the M77.

WC+disabled in Old Stable Yard and Burrell Collection, highly tempting tearooms (assistance dogs only) and exhibitions for the culturally minded. Children's play area. Dog water, dog poo bins.   Note - the house is managed by National Trust Scotland, and there's an entry charge for this and no dogs. The park is managed by Glasgow City Council and is free.

Length of walk: 30 minutes or longer

There's 360 acres of parkland to explore here, and a marked trail through the woodland that goes past some of the historical natural and man-made features of the park.

There's a small area surrounding the house where dogs must be on leads, but otherwise the grounds are open to unfettered canine exploration. There is a herd of Highland Cattle in the grounds, although we didn't see them, and wise dog walkers will avoid upsetting them.

The park itself was once the estate of the powerful Maxwell family, who gifted it and the house, to the City of Glasgow in the 1960s after 700 years or so of ownership. There is an entry charge to look at the house and the Burrell Collection of art masterpieces, but entry to the park is free. This is a great place to walk. There's plenty of places to walk around the estate and the information boards around the park are really helpful.
