Haigh Hall Country Park is large, and there's plenty of space for dog walkers. It's very popular with families during the school holidays.  You can also get to this park from the M6.

Full Walk Details

Haigh Country Park is large, and very popular with families during the school holidays. We followed local dog walkers to find open ground with the least number of people.  Walk past the visitor centre down the hill to the left, in the direction of Haigh Hall, and this is where the canine community can be found enjoying the greenery off-lead. There are no set routes, just plenty of space for canine capers. The higher ground gives a panoramic view of the Reebok Stadium, and Bolton.  Well marked and maintained Woodland Trails start from the visitor centre, and the paths are mostly hard-surfaced.
