Full Walk Details
Turn right from the Black Horse car park and then turn right immediately after a church. The path runs to the side of a brook and you'll spot a green metal footpath sign at the start. For a quick doggie legstretch we walked across three fields and turned around after half-a-mile, just before the path starts to go around private houses, and returnd the same way. Not massively interesting but Jem was quite happy. On a wet day, you could take the next right turning from the pub, Alderbourne Lane. As soon as you've walked past a school this becomes a single track and little used lane and it's a kinder option to your footwear if the fields are muddy. Jem was off-lead here and we didn't meet any traffic.
If this is local to you, then you could make a good long walk by staying on the footpath and carrying on into Black Country Park.
