Dog-friendly country inn and dog walk not far from Kings Lynn, Norfolk
PE32 1PA
Description
A country inn that's full of charm. Warm and comforting in winter, open and spacious in summer. Since we visited the management has changed at least twice - we think it's still dog-friendly.
Full Walk Details
From the Crown car park turn right on the road, pass the church and take the track to the side of the churchyard. This brings you out on Back Lane (by a handy dog bin). Turn right and walk on the pavement as far as a footpath/track on the left, just before a group of cottages. This is an easy to follow route over fields, where you do a right/left/right/left pattern to end up on Common Lane. It's just under a mile/20 minutes. Opposite you here is Gayton Thorpe Common. We weren't convinced this is real common land, and so we carried on along Common Lane for a while and then turned round to return the same way. Somewhere in one of the fields is the site of an old Roman villa, which we didn't find and found hard to imagine, although rich Romans did know how to pick a good location.
