The noisy M1 runs parallel to this canal, which you can easily walk to in a few minutes from the Southbound services. But your canine friend can be safely off lead here!

Full Walk Details

If you park on the extreme left of the services car park, over where the electric charging points are, you'll notice a green slope with trees and picnic tables. 

Walk to the top of the slope and you'll see a service road. Turn left and walk to the T junction at the end. Cross over onto the footpath and go left. Very shortly you'll cross over the motorway and then you'll see steps sloping down on the right. This takes you to the canal. It's possible to walk in both directions but we went to the right as it was nice and dry!
