Full Walk Details

3 mile linear walk on the fells Turn left from the Shepherds Inn (with the building behind you) and walk down the lane for a couple of minutes. Reach a fork in the road, and bear left onto the quieter lane. After a couple of houses and a farm the lane is effectively traffic-free. Walk ahead for 1/3 mile and then bear left again onto an unsurfaced track. Now simply follow this track through the trees and over the beck a couple of times and keep going upwards until the track starts to bend around the hill (and go nowhere).  After a breather, head down to the village again on the same track and it will look totally different going the other way. It's just over 1.5 miles each way.
