Award-Winning Dog-Friendly Pub Just 2 Miles from the M62, Junction 8 or 9, Cheshire
WA5 9PB
Description
Dogs are made to feel very welcome at The Maltings - no area is off limits and there's a doggie station inside offering water, treats, bowls and towels: just help yourself! Then peruse the dog menu - they even offer a pooch's Sunday lunch which is basically our roast dinner in miniature! The pub has a warm homely feel and the meals on the human menu match, with huge portions that are excellent value for money - the burgers in particular are tremendous! As North West winner of The Dog-friendly Pub Awards 2018, no-one will be disappointed with a stop off here.

Located in the heart of Sankey Valley Park, there are walks from the doorstep and within minutes your dog can be off-lead along the Sankey Canal and Brook and roaming the excellent woodlands for hours if you wish! Car parking is accessed from Bewsey Farm Close. Access to Sankey Valley Park is out the other side of the pub, or use the path that leads behind the pub from the car park; turn left on Ledyard Close and immediately onto the track. If you visit on a Tuesday morning, the pub runs a group dog walk starting at 11.30am with coffee inside while all the dogs get to know each other. They also hold a dog of the week contest; oh and check out the 'Paw Stars' Photo board inside: so cute! Visit their thriving Facebook page for further walks and events details. Dog bins are provided outside the pub, but don't go looking for the typical red bins. Instead post your dog's poop through the mouth of the rather cute bear guarding the entrance. Sounds strange but yes, you read in correctly - this is a dog bin, though it took me a couple of visits before I realised this! lol... (see accompanying photo)
