Getting There

Leave the M62 at Junction 36 and take the A614 signed Rawcliffe. Take the first right turn, signed Airmyn.
Enter the village and park in the Percy Arms car park.
Return to M62 Junction 36
Turn left out of the car park, and then left again onto the A614 to return to the motorway roundabout.
Airmyn River Walk

Cross the lane in front of the pub to go up the steps onto a broad grassy pathway that runs parallel to the road through the village. Well-trained dogs might be off-lead here, otherwise wait a minute or two longer until the memorial monument when the path bears off into a field. There is a Public Footpath sign here, and the raised path is very clearly visible and easy to follow.
At first the River Aire is to the left. At the corner of the field it’s possible to see where the Aire converges with the River Ouse – not a place for dog swimming. For a 40-50 minute walk, keep following the path around the fields until you’ve walked for half the time and then turn round to return the same way to the Percy Arms.
This route is popular with local dog walkers so if you have a sociable hound there is plenty of space for doggy exuberance.
Facilities

At the Percy Arms. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome inside and dog water is available on request. This is a thriving village pub where visitors can expect a genuine welcome, and good food too.
This is MY favourite walk
