Ogden Reservoir

Ogden ReservoirLength of walk: 35-80 minutes

Turn left out of the car park and then turn right up the lane (private road).  Ahead and to the left you will see a green bank which forms the dam for Ogden Reservoir.

At the yellow waymarker arrow turn left to walk up some steps and across the top of the dam.  A strong stone wall ensures that dogs will not be able to jump in.  At the other side of the dam, climb the steps (be careful of your dog here) and on reaching the path turn right, walking with Ogden Reservoir to your right.  Go through a kissing gate and continue ahead through a leafy landscape.

Where the path forks, we turned right to climb the hill using the steps.  Near the top, after passing the remains of an old building, you come across a track used by farm vehicles where you can choose your direction to walk over the moorland.  Although we were halted by torrential rain at this point, a local dog walker assured us that the moorland is marvellous for dog walking.
